I've seen it in person and man, it's one weird looking thing but maybe you guys here might know what it is.

That Contaflex is one of the holy grails of collecting. Very weird indeed. Incredibly ahead of its time.

Oh unholy cr*p.
Contaflex. TLR in 35mm and the very first integrated light meter from anyone... Interchangable lenses on top of it (and only Mamiya ever tried it again!)
That will go for stupid money fast. That _thing_ is why you know the engineer's ran Zeiss. Every possible tech advance in a body designed to make it difficult to take pictures. IOW a collectors wet dream

Lovely camera.
However, does anyone find his charges for shipping a little high?

$80 shipping from Toronto to Connecticut? There isn't a 23 year old super model topless delivery girl worth an $80 shipping fee let alone USPS or UPS.

Don't forget the REX...
Don't forget the REX...
William,
Please don't forget the Rex Reflex, a little known French 6x6 camera with interchangeable lenses ranging from 59mm to 240mm that appeared in 1949, 7 years before the Mamiya...
(Sorry for the link in French, I just couldn't find anything in English).

The Canon has a prominent perch in the case with the Bessas now.

Thank you for the link, it's always good to learn about something new. Looks like an interesting way of handling the lens boards.
