Hurricane Talking Heads-why?

Why is it that every talking head with a news agency/weather channel has to stand out in the wind and rain getting wet before/during/after a hurricane? As if he/she couldn't get the point across without trying to be dramatic when we have seen this hundreds of times.😛

Must be some sort of code of conduct they swear by...🙄

LOL, I've always wondered if they are really on scene, or actually in a comfortable studio using some kind of video manipulation to make them appear to be there.
