I've got an I-61 that is a little too stiff on the focus, sometimes to the point where the lens unscrews. Greyhoundman cla'd this lens but its just too tight for me.

I just want to add, that in no way do I feel like Greyhoundman did a poor job with this lens. I got a Z 4K and a I-61 from him that are spot on! For my tastes the focus ring is a bit stiff, but I think for others it might be perfect. I'm just used to my sloppy loose GSN.

Are there instructions for fixing the focus tightness?

I relubed 2 I-61s ofmine by following the above page - it is pretty straightforward. I used Lithium Lubricant Grease which I got from a bike shop. Now there are way looser than my Yashica GTN focus.

It's all about the lube. Somewhere there's probably a continuum of the various greases. In my experience, Tri-flow chain grease is stickier than Radio Shack Gel Lube, which is stickier than Finish Line Synthetic Grease. As soon as the absurdity of relubing my scratched I-61 for a fourth time wears off, I'm going to try Sil-Glyde. I'll bet lithium grease gives the lightest effect.
