It's not a "lingering feeling". It's a fact. The Zeiss Ikon is absolutley not a Leica. Other than the M-mount, it's a completely different camera than the M4, which is a heavier, all-mechanical, meterless camera. The ZI, on the other hand is a nice lighter weight camera with AE & a modern meter. Each has its place & it's nice tohave the choice.
His comment seems to be fairly typical of someone who has been using a certain camera for 30 years. The replacement just never quite feels right. However, that is a statement more about the person than about the camera. I have no idea what he means by a "more together camera" nor do I know what difference it makes. As I said above, they are 2 different cameras. To each his own.

I don't see any R2x-like manual frameline selector on the camera ... being a frequent user of a couple of nice 75s I don't think I could contemplate a body that isn't compatible with them.
This is true for an M-mount 75, but for an LTM-mount, like the CV 75/2.5, you just change to a 90 mm adapter & it brings up the 90 frame lines

Thanks, Huck. Good point/workaround. I'm thinking the ZI + CV35/1.7 + CV75/2.5 would make a nice, light "modern" RF kit.

yeah, he was no new face to photography either. I am sure it wouldnt be too easy to go from a trusty m4 to the new and relativly unproven ZI.
All in all though I really hope the ZI turns out to be a strong and reliable camera over the years if not just so it can give leica a kick in the pants to remind them that they are way too expensive and being passed up by the new guys.
