Leica LTM I am a Leica Expert because...

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
because I have them all locked up in a safe and never to be touched by someone who will actually use them

Because I can discuss with a straight face all the different M6 commemorative models.

Because my cars are all black paint with brassing showing through.

Because all my Leica gear was bought new.

(None of the above is actually true, but then you knew that.)

Because I own just about every piece of Visoflex II lens adaptor ring junk ever made, plus a Bellows II with gen-u-ine Leitz p/n 16,557 "Bellows-type lens-hood"!

Wow!

OK Mr. B, have you ever seen or heard of the Visoflex II-S. They're not marked as such but the ground glaas is mounted in a metal frame and you can slide it in place or remove it. Supposedly a clear glass with cross hair was also made. Everything else is standard Visoflex II.

Because of the looks on the faces of the 60 or so members of my first camera club (I was 15 yrs old.... 40 yrs ago) when they asked what I carried in my little bag and I pulled out a new M2 and 35 and 90 summi's.

Because I know the etymology of expert.

Ex, a has-been.

Spurt, a drip under pressure.

Cheers,

R.

Hi Roger,
Just waiting for my flight details to Tel Aviv.
Seems there are millions more 'drips under pressure' outside this forum than within.

Uh, because I've met Tom A., and exchange posts with him and Al Kaplan? Well, it helps, some . . . ;)

And I have an LHSA emblem on my photo vest!

Oh--and an expert is someone from more than 50 miles out of town.

Because I spend three hours of my weekend tearing my house apart to find the little red filter that goes over the rangefinder window on my Leica III
