I Can't Believe it it's not Bokeh

Maybe a stop down would have brought her nose and mouth a little more into focus ... but you probably don't like that idea either! 😛

Personally, I like the DOF and far-eye focus. I think it's a terrific portrait.

thanks, I was just blowing off the end of the film. In a dark hotel-room overlooking lake Windermere, my daughter ... she took the better picks that day

I like your portrait...the left hand fingernail in focus is an interesting touch as well. I see what the others mean too. You're very gracious about the feedback. My daughter, 16, has also taken to film, which she also doesn't pay for. I bought her a Nikon F3HP, Italian designed body but its blokiness otherwise seems to suit her. She uses PCs in preference to Macs and despite her bluntness hasn't said that an RF is a girl's camera but she probably thinks so.

Dear Stewart,

The focus was God is punishing you for not using an RF.

Seriously, nice portrait -- and I think the focus works. The far eye is far more dramatic than the near eye would have been, though ideally I'd have used 8x10 and the 21 inch Ross, with a tiny bit of swing back to hold both eyes.

Although it's probably terribly politically incorrect to say, "You have a very attractive daighter, and photographed her well," you have, and you did.

Cheers,

R.
