Nice one LOL!dadsm3 said:Another bonus is even when you're not printing you can holler "darkroom!" when your wife or one of the kids opens the basement door, and they go away.

My s.o. has been most supportive; she tolerates my hanging negatives on the walls to dry, taking two or four hours in the bathroom developing film...when I got the Jobo rotating developer that almost pushed the limit. I think an enlarger would give me my well-deserved cumulative slap if I were to yell not to come in.
You know what the next step is, Rover: drying cabinet. Sink. Got a basement? (I wish I did)

Re: drying cabinet
I don't have one and have never had a problem with dust. Drying takes about 1 hour just hanging in the room.

I have a dusty house, obviously!
I bought my enlarger now and managed to dent it on the bus journey home!!!!! It's set up now but I'm not too pleased with the cheap Wray lens. I'll be upgrading that as soon as possible.
Looks like I'm gonna have to set my darkroom up asap now that I have the enlarger!!

What's a dent to an enlarger? I've got a Kowa 50 f2.8 I'm not using, Ash. Want to make me an offer? It's pretty good but my 63mm EL-Nikkor is better. My enlarger blew its bulb yesterday, my spare bulb was a dud! I'd just got into my stride, too. Oh well, off to Silverprint again.

wooo!!!!
I can finally wet print again!! It's a very awkward setup, with bedsheets blacking out a doorframe and curtains, and no safelight. I expose the paper in my room, place either two 5x7 or one 10x8 into the paterson orbital.
THEN I wander downstairs, and develop by the utility room sink. I'm hoping the up and down the stairs thing with slamming doors will become so tiresome that the family HAVE to sort my 'real' darkroom sooner
