Your line reminds me of the agonizing Tuesday I spent waiting for my very first Leica body to arrive. I placed the order on Monday morning, with Don Chatterton, who offered free shipping of any type. Being a considerate human being
When's your M9 coming in? Lucky you... And congratulations again!

So let Leica give it a CLA at the end of that year and get another year of guaranty.
will leica give you a year's warranty if you send your camera in for CLA and then they certify that it is free of problems?

Any major repair or CLA has, up till now anyway, come with a certificate for a year's extended guaranty. Goes for the M8 as well. But as I am not Leica CS, check with Leica.

Because there is always someone willing to take your money for a (camera/car/house/boat/art), but there is not necessarily a market for your thing (whatever it is) at the price at which you want to sell it.Huh...why not?

Well, the M9 sells for a very good price used... more than he paid new. With the internet, everything is sellable relatively quickly as long as you are pricing it at the regular used price.

Hello
I'm now traveling for Christmas, so, no problem waiting. In my camera bag is an R6.2 with 35mm f1.4, R7 with 15mm f2.8 and Panasonic GF1.
So, lots of cameras to play with, for the next week.
No problem waiting for the M9.

I chose 2-day delivery. That led to a very looooong Tuesday, but fortunately ended on Wednesday at noon.

I put one up for sale here not long ago that was 6 weeks old, 400 clicks, full warranty and 10% discount on new. I had 1 enquiry from a dreamer!!!
I think people have seen how much m8's have dropped in value and it's affecting resale values.
Buying an M9 new in the box, with full warranty and software license- I would certainly pay the extra 10% for that. Does the software license transfer to the new owner with the M9? It does not with the M8.

Apparently not for either the M8 or M9:

I agree - if I had the kind of money needed for an M9, then the 10% "premium" for a warranted one would seem a very good idea. Second best would be a full warranty on a refurb.

"...resell and make a profit...." is a trap that I don't want to fall into any more.
Yea, I never think this way. But--darn--how I should have bought a Nocti three years back and could now sell it now for a substantial profit :bang: (Actually, I do wish I had bought one, but I'm sure I would keep it.)
