Go easy on Target, my friends. They're way better than Wal-Mart. They don't censor CD lyrics, and they don't pretend to be pro-American while forcing prices so low that only Chinese products can compete, and they may not be as bad about refusing to pay medical claims for their employees.
Here here!
🙂
Actually, around here anyway, the newer Target' stores are quite nice.
Most of the time for the past year or so, Target' has the lowest prices on Fuji roll film, even cheaper than the Walgreens/Fuji rebranded stuff when it's not on sale. Very frequently they have some kind of a special going, such as buy four, get one free, or one roll of 36 in a 4-pack of 24.
They haven't stocked slide film of any brand for years, however.
Target is a chain of discount stores that predate Wal-Mart, and are about 1 notch less poopy-diaper-smelling.
Around here they are several notches above Wally World and have much classier stores.
We almost endearingly pronounce the name with a faux accent aigu, Tar-jhay.
🙂 🙂 🙂
Everything costs 1 dollar more than it does in Wal-Mart, ergo, the parking lot generally does not have 11,000 quarts of oil on it from leaky rusted out old Chevys.
Yes, Wally World usually beats Target' on price, but not always. I've been avoiding them lately because they are inconvenient for me, crowded, zooey, and, yes, socially irresponsible. They try to come off as uber-patriotic, but they treat their employees like sh*t and use their corporate muscle to ramrod their stores into neighborhoods against the wishes of the residents.
In all fairness, Target' has caught their share of flak around here when last year around the holidays they did not allow Salvation Army bellringers to camp out at their entrances.
As with Wally World, Target's employees may or may not know anything about what they are selling. That's why you get the roll of Fuji for $2 and change at Target' and the same roll for $5 and change at the real camera shop. Also, Target doesn't stock as much as Wally World or K-mart. Last summer I tried to find that replacement plastic string stuff for a weed-whacker at Target. I looked all over, and asked, and they sent me to K-mart! No, I am not kidding!
