I shot color film in my M3.
I sure was wishing I was loaded with Tri X though when I went into a little tavern to watch the end of the Yankees game. Then I could have, or would have been shooting at 1600 and could have gotten some useful shots with a shutter speed or 1/8s or so.

As long as it was slide film, you're still OK in my book

You can always claim it's been for scientific purposes. I mean, you did shoot a resolution test chart, didn't you? Or to the very least a ruler sideways to check that focus is still spot on..

Wrong film! That's a mistake.
Fondling! That's a sin.

Pick up a copy of "Better Color with Walter Benser", you'll feel better about yourself.
Of course the important question is, "what lens did you use".

If you enjoyed it then it's a sin, if not ... then it's penance.
Personally sin beats penance every time

A rigid Summicron and a CV 28. It is the fall, I thougt the color would be nice.
Well in that case it is fine.
If you had used a 5cm F2 Summar or 5cm F2.5 Hektor, you should have stuck to B&W.

First time I shot with my M2 I also shot colour (I always shoot colour!) and it did feel like a sin. But I soon got over the feeling.
