I have a dilema

Get the M2, then get a CV35f2.5 for it.

Well I do have in my possession a CV35f2.5 with no body to attach it to since cp_ste.croix purchased my M6+50 cron! 😉

And a CV15 Heliar too! 😉

thinking outside the box:> get the m2 and keep it, sell the m6, buy a gossen digisix meter, a m3 and a cv 35/2.5 for the m2. You will have the great m3+50 and m2+35 combo rocking and rolling with the smallest hand-held light meter i know for those tough calls. you will never miss the m6. there is a cv 35/2.5 for sale at 200 bucks in the classifieds right now. good shooting to you!

An EOS IV HS still sells for around $1000 or more in these parts. I'm not sure everyone here realizes how much the HS part of the camera is worth!
Used M2s go for $500-800 depending on the condition. Forget the M2 trade and wait until you get a good offer on the Canon (maybe even use it while you're waiting), then you will have enough money for a used M2/M3 and some CV glass, or just more money for glass.
And don't let your girlfriend tell you what to do! As long as I keep paying my share of our expenses my girlfriend has absolutely no business in how I spend my earnings! 😉

I have owned a M2 and a M3. Never liked them, but people around here seem to love them. You have a M6, why should you keep the M2? People fondle their cameras too much. It's only equipment, you know.

Ever heard of slow AND fast B+W film? How about B+W AND colour film? Colour neg AND slides? Back-up? How about not having to switch between lenses? There are many reasons for multiple bodies besides for fondling.

Hey dave, good to see another vancouverite in here.

The OP wasn't offered an M6 in trade, he is being offered an M2. Imagine the market values of the M2 and the Canon in 10 years. I's a no-brainer trade in my books.

Cameraman: "An M2 is nothing but a dead end for fondlers."

Sorry, we just aren't going to get along. Different strokes for diff folks, so that's okay. Just try to make your opinions sound less like absolute truths.

I found the M2 /M3 pretty unimpressive to be honest.

What do you need in a mechanical camera to be 'impressed' relative to an M2/M6?

An M2 is nothing but a dead end for fondlers.

This is definitely falling into troll territory, but you are new here.

My 2 bits, it all comes down to what you need right now, a different focal length or a back up/ film change option. Do you need something other than a 50mm right now?
