Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/331852935871
This is gone for half of its value I think.

I agree, Niccas are very nice indeed and that one looks great value. They are quite rare here in the UK but with shipping costs and import duties that one would be £300 or more once imported.
The Leotax models are currently my favourite out of the Leica copies I own, with build quality seemingly at least as good as the originals.

I agree, with shipping and customs that one would be near its value so I stopped bidding at 275 usd. I fell in love with nikkor though!

I was watching that one and another Nicca from the same seller that had a50mm f3.5 rigid Nikkor lens. Anyone have any experience with that lens? It seems uncommon. Joe

Only played with a few in the local camera shops, never owned one. It's a basic Tessar lens with a simple single helicoid design, so the entire front of the lens rotates when you focus. Not exactly user friendly. Expensive only because of its rarity, but prices are down a lot locally. Can easily find one for $400 or so now. For a shooter, a Nikkor-H 50/2 LTM is a better option - cheaper, faster, closer focusing, and more user friendly ergonomics.

Y'all make me feel better. I had hoped to bid on that lens but it was not in the budget. I did get a Nikkor 50mm f2.0 collapsible several months ago and I want to use that one. I got it on an early Nicca for $215. I think I got lucky. The Nikkor 50mm f2.0 is my favorite classic lens. I have four of them now in various mounts. Joe

Both Niccas, from same seller, were offered by my friend's shop here in Sacramento. I am Nicca-hunting so I meant to look at them prior to bidding but failed to do both look and bid. Oh well. The selling prices reflect free Nicca bodies to go with the lenses.

I've sold 3-4 of the Nikkor 1.4s in LTM for over $400 the past few years. Getting one with a high quality Nicca camera for $200-300 is a killer deal, I'd say. It's my favorite 50mm lens, even more than a 50 Summicron.
