I haven't read the entire thread...

so you thought i was actually talking about smoking , didn't anybody read the OP :D:D

oh, sorry, i just skimmed over a couple of replies:bang:

i'm non smoker for the time being (hopefully a long time), dam things are a PITA, only reason i took them up was to wean myself off those nicotine chewing gums

:D:D

As an ex-smoker, I feel I have no right to criticize smokers. However, I always cringe inside when I smell one walking by me; I hate that I used to stink that badly. I'm sorry I subjected others to that putrid stench for so long.

Trust you never fart:eek:

the M stands for Messier in that context, French chap if I remember correctly

and have you noticed now smoking in pubs is banned it stinks of cigarette-smoke on the way out!

me too

I disagree with the OP - even the cheapest binocs are useful for astronomy. Binoculars are easier to locate things with than a telescope where you're looking at the sky through a drinking straw at a right angle, upside down and backwards.

Especially in the freezing cold. However, freezing cold conditions for astronomy are good for film reciprocity failure. Bad for batteries. Yet another reason why film is so much better than digital.

Is the zip on the Billingham similar to the Domke?

I find the Domke zip a little rough on delicate camera finishes if you're not careful putting your camera in or removing it from the F5-XB.

Oh yes indeed, I read the whole thread - I wish I didn't, too late now but the most important question still remains :
Black or chrome? :D
