I love my M4

I wasn't specifically looking for an M4 when I decided to buy a film Leica late last year but I threw out a lowball bid on a 1967 M4 that Samy's had on ebay and was stunned when I won. Now, I realize it was the best choice in the price range I was willing to spend. It's a lovely thing and as a glasses wearer who has a 50mm DR I bought from Sherry Krauter, the M4 framelines work out perfectly for me. I did get a little overpriced vf cover from DAG to protect my glasses and have just added a Kameraleder half-case to carry it in.

I'm mostly wedded to the digital world now but I must admit these old Leicas are really something.

Love mine also, had one before & sold it. Wished I never had, then I found this one. Nothing better than a weekend with an M4 & a good cigar.

Hello guys!

Can you please help me with something again? What exactly are "black enamel" and "black paint"? Are they the same or are we actually talking about 2 different painting techniques? Of course I ask specifically in the context of the M4.

Tnx a lot.

Does anyone know if the M4's rangefinder patch white-outs like the M4P/M6 does? It's the same construction so I imagine it does, no?

Also, the M4 was the last camera to be assembled with magical fairy dust sprinkled in all the right places. ;)
