I had about two hours without the kids this morning to myself, so I drove to Joe Patti's Seafood Store on the old Main Street in Pensacola. I took some photos with the M8 set to ISO 160 and standard color with the Rigid Summicron. Then, after the girls joined me again, I drove to Fort Pickens on Pensacola Baech, and we walked around some rooms of the Fort. I set the M8 to Black & White at ISO 1250 (or so), and my girls were my models. The light was very special, as it entered the dark rooms from a few windows. I like the results, but then again, I like the photos that I take, so it is a biased opinion.

Dana was posing at window light:

Of course, Lina would do the same. I see some 3D effect showing up with the Summicron and the window light.

I should have lowered the ISO for the following two images due to the harsh window light.

The 1.3333 crop of the M8 makde the 50 Summicron a short tele. I liked this for some close-ups.

This should do. I took more photos today, but I am tired now of the uploading. Feedback is welcome even if negative. I enjoyed it all.

The M8 is still new to me. The memory card appeared as filled up even tough it was nearly empty for a 8 GB card. I had no back-up card. Else, it was as easy as using my M6.

Thanks for sharing these Raid. You obviously had a wonderful time/shoot.

#4 in the first set is breathtaking! And the affinity you and your girls have together is so nice to see here. I also enjoyed some of the stills in color and the second to last in B&W of the windows.

Thanks David. It was the first time in which I dedicated several hours to using the M8. The skin tones look really nice.

Raid, Great photos all, but nos. 4 and 5 are especially splendid, among the very best you've done of your daughters. Their personalities come through in a delightful way. Bravo!

Thanks for sharing. The Summicron and the subject matter work well together.

Do you find yourself mainly using the in camera bw mode rather than coverting the raw files? Just asking because i really like the tonality of the jpgs you posted.

Nice work Raid some of thse shots are superb. I was thinking that the M8 was old news but there is nothing wrong with those images.
Do you think it's still a good camera to buy in late 2012?

Lovely kids. Nice tones and colors. i have a Kodak digital camera and the sensor is very sharp, the colors stunning except on cloudy days or flash esp. with blacks, now magically magenta. No! i won't buy the filters, for a $5 camera.
Look forward to more images.

Hi David,
Thanks for your feedback here. I enjoy my weekends with my kids as often as possible, and they got used to me taking photos all the time.
