This forum has been fragmented for some while now. Not saying that as a bad thing, just when I joined in 06 the emphasis was on rangefinder cameras only. It would be nice to see it return to that level but that is only wishful thinking at this point in time.. Only APUG has kept the faith, & as RFF morphs into a more digital friendly site I suppose us die hard film fanatics will move to analog forums.

I just don't see any anti-film bent sneaking in here. Hell, I don't even own a digital RF yet (the X100 not really counting).

Cameras do evolve, usually to help people take better pictures under a wider variety of conditions. This is all that has happened with the new Leica M (while retaining all original functions and character)? I cannot see ANY of the new functions being visible to you unless you go into the menu and find them, or start pressing buttons.

If I get the new M, I will be using it along side several film M bodies and see nothing other than a healthy evolution in the 'photographic tool'. I will be using the new M just as I do my film bodies. Nothing will change for me. This forum will not change for me. Nothing is being taken away from me.

If I wanted to be recognised for operating a difficult piece of equipment, I'd ride to work on a unicycle.

Our job in future will be to enter all digital threads purely to remind those poor lost souls of the superiority of silver halide crystals! 😀
