as some of you might know, I'm living in switzerland now. I know and love the region around lake geneva since I'm a baby and I kind of partly grew up here. I already posted a lot of photos taken here on my flickr and http://simonsawstreet.blogspot.com/ .
but I would now like to share those from an awesome 5-6h hike/climb or so up (and down) the rocher de naye above montreux last week. a leica m with a nice black and white film is what I think I love most for landscape things... (M2, Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f1.2 and one roll of Tri-X 400 to be precise)

let pictures do the talking!

Lovely shots and, as billed in your title, from on high. Very nice work. I particularly like the contrast between the sharp foregrounds and fog down below, in the distance. Considering you must have been slightly out of breath at the end of your cllmb, very well done.

Great work! I love the first one especially.

Have u ever try to enlarge and print it out? I believe it will be stunning when hung on the wall.

Never have I been too keen on landscapes, but these ones really are something. Good job! You nailed them!

One question: how did you meter? 😕 That's the reason I don't shoot like this with my meterless bodies.

Love the photos. Great thing to see some landscapes here. Shows Leicas can be used for more than just walking down crowded streets.

thanks, everyone =)

yes, the atmosphere that day was beautiful! and I remember being a little shaky during one or two shots indeed, but it was definitely worth the breath.

I haven't got any prints of these, no, but I might give it a shot, thank you!

I'm only metering here and there when shooting, it's mostly guess work and for the rest I use a vc meter II =)

Simon, I love B+W landscape work! Do you use green/orange/yellow filters in your landscape work at all?

I have a y48 yellow filter, but I don't think I had it on then.

Oh wow these are just inspirational!

I know medium/large format 'rocks' (no pun intended) for landscape but I have had a real 35mm epithany over the past year or so with my M2 and seeing your stunning results, just affirms how good it can be to work with such a small format.

I'm about to embark on a 135 mile trek tomorrow with my M2 but the ground underfoot will be much mellower than mountains! (A few steep climbs here and there)

I think you've done some stunning work there, get it printed and be proud of it.

Thank you for sharing! 😀
