Lovely - 'timeless' picture!.....and not high contrast 'soot and whitewash' - like a lot of the stuff put up these days!

That's why i love my zenit's Helios. In cloudy days it gives very low contrast pictures. Pity it messes up so badly during sunshine....

was with my m6 + 50 lux, walking around in the markets, trying to finish my roll of xp2 as i have a few photos from an event the day before..was snapping at random things to fill up the roll..the counter on my m6 read 36, i turned a corner and saw this beautiful backlight, and a father bottle feeding a baby. i brought the cam up while cocking the shutter in one swift move, metered, focused and took the first shot in less than a second, and by the time i recocked the shutter for the second shot, the father had turned away to face his wife. doesn't matter, frame 38 didn't exist anyway..
frame 37:
was stressed over my mid year exams and was studying late into the night, with the textbook on my bed and 3 clamp-on lights illuminating whatever i was reading(cramming). i got up, stretched and saw this beautiful arrangement of lights, books, notes, pen, my pillow and comforter..i grabbed my m6 + sonnar prototype loaded with xp2 and took this:
was in london christmas 08, visiting my girlfriend who is studying there..chanced upon reddotcameras in central london, bought an old leica IIIa with a summar, my first screw mount, and a 24 exposure roll of then-new-to-me xp2. girlfriend got bored w me playing w my "new" toy and started playing with my canon 5d. i was amused and fired 16 shots using the IIIa:
they might not be the best technically but they're the ones that will always bring back the memories..

For some reason this is my most popular one - made it all over the web, and even after years I keep getting feedback:
I have many that I like better myself, including this one:
and this one:
Roland.

Hello, here is one of my best pics taken with a Canon VI-T + Canon 50mm f/1.8 LTM :
Taken in a german blockhaus (an atomic submarine base) in Saint-Nazaire, last city liberated in Europe at the end of WWII.

Hard to choose just one. Depending on criteria, I have different favorites.
I have a flickr album called "My Selection" (also in my sig).
"These are not necessarily the most popular, most interesting, most viewed, nor most commented images in my stream. I seem to gravitate to these though, for aesthetic, sentimental, or technical reasons (or all three)."

I know what you mean...
Hard to believe how many can't be critical enough of their own work to post just one. And where is the OP's "best"? He must not actually make images? I guess not, just a riler.

Help me out then, Bob:
I posted three: (a) my most popular one, (b) the one with most emotions attached for me personally, and (c) my favorite print hanging on the wall at home.
What's "best" ?
Roland.

I can't venture a guess about a best shot, but here are two that remain favorites...

Ethics debate?!? That's a good one, pure and simple. Wonderful expression--I love the two identical photos he's got on him.

And this is the one that makes me feel best to look at, even though the napkin in the background kind of throws off the balance:

So burn in the napkin and turn this one into the best!
