I like to see comments on gallery pics, especially if there's something more than "I like it" being said. I'm not sure how to interpret the number of views; maybe the thumbnail reveals something great, or maybe it's unclear and clicked out of curiosity.
In threads, again I prefer to see something more than "I like it". Quoting pics can be good so as to show what pic you're talking about, especially when there are some other posts distancing the quote from the original. When the quote closely follows the original, then showing the pic is unnecessary IMO, and the pic could be deleted from the quote to save space. In any case, quoting only the pic you're actually commenting on (if there were several strung together) keeps it clear and clean.
btgc, referring to posts by number can get you lost, as over time posts disappear from a thread for whatever reason, changing subsequent numbers. Good comment though!
