It's got an ASPH lens btw... The battery cover is fixed to the body (owners of small Canons will understand that comment) and it was one of their last P&S compacts to be made. The Z70W (an export only one) was probably the last to be designed by Canon (beaten by some of Nikon's in 2002) but I've not checked it.

I would hate to think how many cameras just like these are hiding in cupboards and sock draws now. Alone and unloved never to be taken places :-(
If the idea of the solo project is too much maybe you could loan a few out and have a weekend project or even a one day shoot out. Maybe ... "The World Famous Arizona Point and Shoot Sunday".
What is the plan for the good ones? One in the car, one in the man bag and a few in other places just in case

My fave is 26, the Ricoh FF-90.
The Ricoh FF-90 has a wicked lens on it. Just run a film through mine and it was only marginally beaten by the Konica Hexar AF I put it up against. The Hexar won 2 out of every 3 shots. That meant the Ricoh had 8 shots I preferred over the Hexar. For a plastic P&S that costs about £10, that is some performance!

#27 is not a Stylus Epic, it is a Stylus Zoom 70, still not bad if it works.
The two XA's are keepers, as are the Ricohs, Pentax PC35, and the other Pentax AF Zoom looks decent. Nikon One Touch is an excellent camera, everyone should own one.. Samsung Maxima will be a decent shooter, I like the Samsungs, but not much resale value on them. Fuji Nexia is an APS, but the Discovery Zoom should be OK. HP is a digital. Canon is a keeper, as are the Minoltas. Give the Vivitars to a kid. Yashica zoom is post-Zeiss, but before they got really cheap, actually had decent reviews, might be worth putting a roll through it.

I have a couple of those camera's in my drawer, If you pay for shipment you may have them for free!
Oh, and with respect to your collection, I don't believe aps film is for sale anymore so you can rule those cameras out....

Actually, I can get APS at the local drug store.

There's a couple of under-rated Minolta "Freedom" Zooms in the heap I noticed. Both worth trying out and very good but be very carefull opening the battery cover door on the 150 version. Instead of a proper hinge pin it has a "dent and pimple" which usually wears and fails. Again they might have ASPH lenses to them and the 150 has a wide range of modes like EV compensation (+1½ from memory) for into the sun and snow shots and an infinity setting: both hidden in the flash modes.
As someone else has mentioned there's a lot of fun to be had looking for old P&S's at very silly prices and, of course, the odd XA or Contax with them.
In your shoes I'd be drawing up a list of standard test shots and then boring myself to tears putting films through them. BTW, a lot of big shops sell Fuji holiday packs (5 cassettes of 24 exp ASA 200) cheaply and some high street labs will do development and a CD cheaply; meaning without prints.

That's a good one indeed: my father-in-law used one until he broke it trying to open the backdoor himself to get the film out (instead of letting me do it as usual ... ).
