I have just purchased what was advertised as a late model Mamiya 6 (AEL on shutter speed indicator) on eBay. The camera appears to be in excellent condition, but on closer inspection it looks to me as though someone has blacked out the letters "MF" on the top of the camera. It's very neatly done, however, and could have been done at the factory--it's my understanding that the late model 6's were produced after the MF, so Mamiya may have been using the same body, not sure.

Could anyone help me further identify which model this is? When the 75mm lens is attached, the viewfinder has cropping bars that go all of the way across at top and bottom. The vertical cropping bars at left and right only go part way, with gaps at top and bottom. There are no other cropping marks in the viewfinder.

The camera came with the original box, and the label reads "Mamiya 6 RF Camera Body w/strap," S/N 312480.

Many thanks,
David

I can't be certain but I thought the thing that separated the MF were all of the cropping marks, so If it doesn't have them I'd say it was a 6...Not sure at all though, just my thoughts. My 6's cropping marks don't run the length of the viewfinder but I assume it's an older model. either way a great camera:D
