...a nice used 18-55 fuji zoom...i could mate my 2 xe1 bodies to the two zooms i would have (55-200 + 18-55) for a very nice zoom kit...and then use my 2 xe2 bodies with my prime lenses...

I can't speak from experience with Fuji digital, but I like your idea.
I'm still shooting film in 6x6/120 and 35mm/135 with manual-focus primes, but I've been watching these Fuji cameras for awhile. I could see myself branching into digital with a Fuji body and the 18-55 zoom, as my favorite focal lengths in 135 are 85mm and 28mm. From there, I would probably want to add primes.

I have a reply in the form of a question for XE users. I've been using 2 XT1 bodies for work and just added an XE2s body as backup and portable set-up w/27mm. The on/off switch is easily turned on by accident. Very little resistance, at least compared to the XT1 which clicks firmly on or off. Is it just the XE2s body I have or are they all this way? Can the on/switch be tightened-up, I wonder?

The On/Off switch on all my Fuji cameras (XE2, XE2S, XP1 and X100S) operate the same. They're all pretty easy to turn on by accident.
And, back alley, I like the idea of a body dedicated to a lens. It takes up more space in the bag--and it's more expensive--but it's convenient.

I've been thinking of the 18-55mm zoom lately as well. They are about $300 used. I think it might be my next lens.
