If you only had one SLR 50

"in the redistribution of wealth of the new communist state"

Wealth has been redistributed in the good ol' USA for some time, transfering it from me, a Social Security and Medicare recipient, to needy banks and investment firms, so that I really do have only one fifty . . . a 35/1.8 for my D7000. I like it.

I hear you...same here, only we aren't yet able to receive either SS or Medicare so we live on a less than minimum wage income.😡 The hope and changey thingy doesn't work us.

But I still love my Cron 50 F2 and the 5cm Summarit and they are NOT gonna redistribute those!!!

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Sigma 50/1.4. I've had a lot of 50s but the Sigma's been the best overall. Better build, AF, sharpness, and bokeh than the EF 50/1.4. Yeah it's pretty huge (77mm threads) but it balances well on a 5D2.

I noticed a few people have mentioned it. I currently use one on my 5d, and yeah it's an excellent lens - far better than the current canon/nikon 50mm f1.4's...

I'd still rate the canon 1.2L better though

Other than the 50 on my Nikon S2, the only other 50 I own is my 1985-vintage Nikkor 1.8 AIS, so I'll have to go with that one. It meters on my D7000 but I rarely ever use it; its just not my go-to lens for a DX-sensor camera.

The evil dictator heard the sound of the shutter on my trusty Bessa R & said that was the nicest SLR I've heard. She was very intriuged with the chrome J-3 lens with Russian insigna & was brought back to a time when her grand papa ran this gulag:

Arsenal was a camera factory ran by the KGB. It was located right next door to the Blackbeard bomb factory. I was immediately allowed press photographer to the regime. So thats my story & I'm sticking to it!

Bessa R which sounds like an slr & J-3 (50/1.5)😀
BTW the Arsenal photo was taken with a FED 5

change? :bang: the new boss is the same as the old boss.

BTW I might be sold on the Olympus 50mm f3.5 macro. I was absolutely blown away by a quick snap I took yesterday. And it was on digital! I think I'm gonna have to start drinking that zeiss 3d talk kool-aid

Lots of good lenses in this category my vote would go for the Hexanon 50/1.7 however. Even more so considering how inexpensively the hexanons go for.
