I would like to collect classic sailing yachts
- but vintage fountain pens and straight razors are also nice.

I collect vintage fountain pens and vintage Omega watches.
The fountain pens? - because I love the designs, construction materials and the physics involved in the ink delivery systems.
The Omega watches? - they are cool looking and generally do everything a watch should.

When I was younger, I actively collected model cars - which started taking up too much space. I am / was also an avid watch collector. I own about 90 watches or so, and I'm happy with what I have so I don't really buy often.
I also have about... twenty nice knives, a dozen flashlights, all in all some twenty computers... but I wouldn't consider it collecting per se. Usually I just buy something if I see something I like.
I'm just a person with a wide variety of interests I guess. Currently, I'm on a camera kick with about 35 cameras or so.

I have started collecting, (and using), Olympus pocket cameras. I always found the XA series fascinating and I have several Mju series cameras and an XA3. It was sort of an involuntary thing which started when I won a Mju II on ebay really cheaply when my Canon Sureshot died. Strange, but they have also produced some of the best shots I have taken in a while, and most have cost me less than a pint of beer !
