Ilford HP5+ and Delta 400

I've been using HP5+ (just one 100' bulk roll) and now it's time to buy a new one... just wondering what do you think about delta 400 as I don't find it referenced so many times as HP5+...

Delta 400 - the only film I use for MF. I don't know why, probably it's easier to get in my location. and I love it in Ultrafine particularly

HP5+ is a traditional-base film, where Delta 400 is "modern" Delta-grain (like Kodak T-grain Tmax's) film.

T-grain films are more linear in terms of tone reproduction, so usually traditional films give more freedom with exposure and also development. In oppose T-grain films give better contrast to extreme shadows and highlights, where traditional films often give nicer contrast to midtones.

Usually it is just a matter of taste anyway, especially if you scan your negatives.

Maybe just get a single roll or two to see how you like it before committing to a hundred footer.

HP5+ has worked well in any developer I have tossed it in. It worked really well for a scene I had to underexpose 2 stops and overdevelop. It has also wroked really well for another scene whre I had to overexpose and underdevelop. I think that means it pushes & pulls nicely.

I haven't used Delta 400.
