I'm about to set off for a month of travel in Indonesia with my Bessas, and I'll be interested to see how they stand up to the rigors of hot and humid, and hot and dry places, and a lot of use.

I'll be taking the following:
Bessa R3A + Nokton 40/1.4
Bessa R + 35/2.5 C
CV 25/4
CV 75/2.5
Reala, NPH and Tri-X (about 35 rolls total)

My plan is to shoot colour on the R3A and Tri-X in the Bessa. I wish both cameras were m-mount so I could switch lenses more easily. The 35 probably won't leave the Bessa R, but we'll see.

Usually I've carried a Canon FD SLR plus lenses. This kit is smaller and lighter, allowing me to carry an extra body at no expense.

I look forward to writing a report when I get back!

Which part of Indonesia are you plan to visit, I live in Jakarta and could give you a couple of pointer for places for film supplies and development if you need it.

Hi Sabrewolf,

Thanks! Although I was originally planning on spending time on Java, I've decided to concentrate on Lombok and Flores (for those who don't know, those are the islands east of Bali). I do hope to get to Java on a later trip though, to see Bromo and Borododur. They look stunning.

Thanks for the good wishes, Dave.

Cheers,
Ben
