i really like the domke f6 bag…fits my gear quite well and is very usable for my style of shooting…i bought a new one awhile ago and have no complaints about it…save one…it's brown and i sorta hate brown!
i have tried to trade it for a black one, sell it to buy a black one and even tried to just accept the colour…
whenever i am in the local camera shop i check the bags to see if they have a black one…and today i found a black domke, not an f6 but an 4af.
i had an 4af years ago, i bought it well used and wore it out (i was much younger/more active back then)…
i like the set up of the 4af and it fits the same amount of gear just set up a bit differently…i'll use it for awhile and if i still like it then i'll put the f6 on kijiji…
i'm a weak man...

Hmm. Looks like a slightly larger version of the F3X from the outside. Nice bag; I've had the F3X for years and years. It used to be my standard bag when I was carrying a full Nikon F3 SLR kit.
The F3X and F6 bags in my closet have been storing my flash lighting setup for years now.

My problem with black bags Joe, and I have several, is that I often throw one on my couch and my cat sleeps on it - creating half an hour of work with one of those sticky rollers to get all the hair off. Otherwise, black bags are the tops! Cheers...Tony

Black is not even a color, and only time you need to wear it is at funerals.
Go back to the brown one, get a blue jacket and a colorful scarf to go with it!

The 4af looks very nice Joe (spelling auto-correct just tried to change that to "oaf"). I guess, being canvas, you could dye the brown one? Used to be able to buy waterproofing paint for canvas tents but from memory the paint was olive green.

I like my brown Domke Waxwear F6 bag. And I like the olive Domke color.

I have a slew of Domkes. 4 F5XB's (black, olive, black ballistic, and black canvas "White House" special ed). 3 F3X's (2 black, 1 black ballstic "White House" edition). 1 F4AF black. 1 F1 black. 1 F2 "Emerald edition". 1 F6 black. Plus 4 other White House editions, a briefcase, laptop bag, and 2 backpacks. And the junior-sized Outback backpack. Love them all, but the only style I use for travel is the F5XB. I just don't like traveling with a bag whose only means of closure is/are snap clips. Just too easy for a pickpocket to stick their hand in unnoticed. Plus the F5XB can be used with a belt and shoulder strap so it's really secure. One thing I dislike about all the F-series (1,2,3,6) is the lack of padding. It's fine for keeping the contents from knocking into each other, but not sufficient IMHO to take a drop from a table onto concrete or marble.

a bit of an update...i really like this bag!
minimal velcro, just a small patch on the top flap, more to keep the wind from blowing the top up when the clasp is not done...there is only one clasp instead of the 2 on the f6...i much prefer the one, so much easier/quicker to do/undo...the bag is a bit deeper than most of the ones i have used lately and surprisingly i like that that better too! feels more secure, like it holds the contents better...the bag holds the same amount of gear as the f6 just a bit differently set in...i have the strap adjusted shorter than i normally do and hanging it off one shoulder rather than across my chest...it's more comfortable than i remember...the pockets on each end of the bag are nice to have, keeping batteries/cards-both sd and business...cleaning cloths etc nicely tucked away. i can even fit a lens in one if i want...getting the 4af domke was a good move.

If you start heading south and east you might be able to meet up with a great man who can help you. It's his first visit to the US so it might be hard to get into see him. But, if you mention that you have over 39K posts on RangefinderForum I bet they will let you in.
I suspect he might respond by asking who is he to judge your weakness, he's heard much worse, follow Frank's advice and go shoot great pictures.
