Canada, eh.
Very happy with my kit of camera gear. Just looking around for a Leica Minilux (AF P&S version before the CM) I'd like something smaller than my Hexar AF and more substancial than my Yashica T4. Help me out if you can.

Anyone else (almost) done with accumulating gear?

WOW! What happened Frank? BTW you're not going to delete your Just waiting for the mail, anyone?
thread, are you? 😛

Is your Contax still in Henry's shop?

I get my 25/2.8 ZM lens in the mail today, and I'll be done. The only thing I might be inclined to get in the future is a faster 50 or 35 (all of my lenses are f/2.8 or f/2), but I haven't really been hindered by those limitations in the past. I also might want to replace my Canon 35/2 with the 35/2 ZM, if only to keep up with Joe. 😀

I will if you tick me off. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I'm number 15 on "the list".

Remember that time you said we could "roast" you in the anything goes forum?

After trying multiple 35mm systems I'm pretty sure I'm done. I'll be sticking with the M6TTL with ZM 50 and 28mm. Any future purchases will be made in darkroom/mounting equipment or possibly 4x5. that means I'll be getting rid of my excess gear shortly - Bessa R, M4-P, Elmar 50/2.8 etc.

Hey Frank,

Nope, just getting started I'm afraid... I have graduated to having multiples of some fsu lenses in different mounts, but it is getting worse... I now want 'quality' ltm lenses... Just bought a Canon 50mm f/1.9 for my Tower type 3. That will be it for quite a while (yeah right!) as my credit card is mad at me... The student budget just isn't going to cut it when I branch out into M mount!

The main thing is that I enjoy my cameras... Good luck with the Minilux search...

Regards,

Peter

Getting there.

(35mm) film wise, I'm sorted for bodies with M2 and M6 plus all the other fun ones (K1000, Pen FT, Pen EE). The RF glass line-up is pretty happy also.

That said, I wonder if I'd be more comfortable with a 40 than my 35, and the CV 40 would probably quench my thirst for an f/1.4-ish 50 as well.

In MF, a couple more lenses for the Bronnie and I'll be there.

Problem is, I've been wondering lately how I'd take to 5x4 😀

I feel like almost done, only two things left now is the reloadable cassettes I am about to order for the IIIf and I have to get a viewfinder for the 90 Elmar. Anyone got a spare? 🙂

I stood a couple of minutes ago looking at my drying negatives and thought about the fact that I've bought so many cameras and lenses lately, I am not sure I've used a roll of film with each of them... Time to settle down a bit and buy film and paper instead of cameras. 😀

Oh, yeah, me too.

The Canon P arrived today. Here it is along with the IVsb2 and VT.

I'm pretty much done. Nikon S3 with 35, 50 and 105 and a Canonet QL17 GIII. I'm planning on getting rid of my Yashica GS. Two cameras is enough. I know that is blasphemy but it's the read deal for me. (fingers crossed behind my back just in case 😉 )The next camera purchase for me will be a dslr but that is probably 12 months off at least.

Nice, Rover.

1.5, 1.4 and 1.2 ?

How does the 1.4 compare to the 1.2 @ f1.4, in your opinion ?

Thanks,

Roland.

Yes on the lenses.

The 1.4 is a great lens. All around strong performer, nice character, sharp, bokah and all that stuff. The 1.2 has a lot of character, more of a unique look to it, not as sharp, but very pleasing.

The 1.5 charmer. Handsome and another great every day lens.

I have a chrome 1.8 also, but honestly I haven't used it for more than 2 rolls since having it for no other reason than there is a lot of competition in this house.

I think I'm pretty much done for the next couple years until I'm out of school. I get occational bouts of camera fever (most recently for a medium format RF) but I'm getting better at staying strong.

All bets are off once I enter the workforce though (or so I'd like to think -- I'll most likely be married and saving for a house down payment at that point).

Geez, with all of you being "done" I guess the price of used RF gear is about to plummet! 😀

Have you considered a Contax T2? I think that they generally go for around the same price as a Minilux (or maybe a little less). I've had one for the past few years and I've always been happy with the results.
