Ok, so this is probably a bad idea but since I'm on vacation I will do it anyway. I want to gut my Bessa L for it's light meter electronics and add the metering to my Kiev 4am.
I am not sure if this is even possible, but was hoping that some one might have some suggestions on how to go about it.
I think I might even be able to meter off the film plane!

DD, are you aware of Huw Finney's project about fitting a ttl meter into a screw mount Leica and the subsequent one involving the same on his M2 ?
Search at photo.net under 'mad project', if you haven't seen it yet it may give you some ideas.
Btw if I'm not wrong the Bessas have a grey additional shutter curtain over which the light cell takes the reading, how are you planning to do that on the Kiev ? I'm not sure if there's enough free space inside the Kiev to fit the electronics. Then there's the shutter speed coupling issue as well...
But hey, the best part of crazy ideas is to find solutions for the problems that appear
Good luck !

Huw's project is pretty amazing especially to me as I am all thumbs with that sort of thing.

Hats off to DD! I mean, it's not like I'm all thumbs when it comes to screwdrivers, soldering, and such, but this is not something I'd venture into... really...
Wish you good luck and keep us posted.
Rick, are you reading this?
BTW: DD, make sure you take plenty of photos!!!!

Denis
