The original Otis Cafe was in Otis, Oregon which is about fifteen miles from the coast. It was popular and quite successful but it burned early in 2019. The pandemic hit, then the wildfires in the fall of 2020 and the property owners decided not to reconstruct the building. The restaurant moved to the Taft district at the south end of Lincoln City and are doing quite well.

Otis Cafe, Lincoln City, OR

Sorry to hear that the Otis Cafe burned, but happy to hear that they are still in business. We always stopped there on the way to see my brother in Florence. We live near Boston, but we love the Oregon coast. Not sure that I'll ever pass that way again because my brother died in 2017.

Three originally posted on the main Gallery, using the Retina 1 my father bought second-hand circa 1948. Forties weekend, using age appropriate camera. It is a particularly horrible device, with a nasty squinty viewfinder, distance by guesswork (and no accessory shoe to mount a separate rangefinder) and most annoyingly, film wind-on backwards compared to a Barnack Leica. I'd just had the lens defogged, but I'll bet it's had no other maintenance in 90 years.
