Was able to go out last weekend with the Tamron Adaptall 200mm-500mm 6.9 and grab these. Really fun lens to shoot with!

Any suggestions for a sharp and small manual lens at 30-40 range, and not terribly expensive?
My nokton 35mm has too much character and looking for sth more sterile. I was planning for a fuji 35 f/2 but I would prefer a manual lens.

I can find the following alternatives:
Fuji 35 f/2
Fuji 35 f/1.4: Some reports claim it is sharper, other less sharp, other that is the same with the 35 f/2
VM Nokton 35 f/1.4 MC (I) : Again, not impressed with the sharpness of this lens even stepped down.
VM Nokton 34 f/1.2 X mount: Is this actually any different than the leca mount as far as sharpness is concerned?
VM Nokton 40 f/1.4: Same as 35 f/1.4 I believe
VM Skopar 35 f/2.5: Some reports that is a bit sharper - https://erickoke.wordpress.com/2015/...s-color-skopar
VM Ultron 35 f/2: seems very sharp - https://youtu.be/3YTQpCaPQtw
Minolta 40mm Rokkor: ?
Kipon Iberit 35mm f/2.4: maybe a good alternative to the Fuji f/2?
Other cheap alternatives like the 7Artizans/TTArtisan/Meike ?
The VM Ultron 35mm f1.7 looks like a very sharp lens for Fuji but it is on the larger size ..

If it doesn't have to be fast, the 35mm f/3.5 Pentax Super Takumar is an excellent lens. You should be able to find one in great shape for less than $100. The Super Multi Coated and SMC versions cost a bit more, but are still a great value.

Thanks AAlfano for the suggestion but I am looking for sth compact. So I guess the only adapted lenses that remain small are the Leica mount ones..
I think I am between the VM Ultron f/2 and the Fuji f/2.
The Ultron performs really well:

Anyone has used the new Ultron f/2 on a Fuji?

I guess not a lot of people have this lens... It is very hard to get a good price in Europe at the moment. Spending >800 euros is still hard to digest so I grabbed the Fuji 35mm f/2 for $300.
Initially, I was very excited for the VM 35 nokton in X mount so I got the X-Pro3 just for that lens. Then I started using more the M mount version and I realized that I just can't justify getting the new one over the one I already have. The Ultron f/2 seems like a much better lens, so one day ...

The 35mm f/3.5 Super Tak is about the same size as the f/2 VM Ultron and the f/2 Fujis, and weighs less than either (about 150 g). Here's a pic of mine with a 35mm film box for size comparison:

Yeah but isn't the adaptor is as big as the lens? This is the SLR lens correct?

It is an SLR lens, but it's one of the smallest SLR lenses I'm aware of. It seems positively tiny to me because its about half the size and weight of my other 35mm SLR lens, a 35mm f/2 Nikkor.
I suppose the adapter would have to be larger than one for a rangefinder lens, but since I think it would basically be a hollow tube, it shouldn't add that much weight. Considering you can get the Super Tak for around 1/4 to 1/8 the cost of the other lenses you mentioned, it might be worth putting up with slightly more overall weight.
The Super Tak is a very sharp lens and has a bit of 3D pop. More info and samples here:
