Imaging Resource posts Digital M update

I think probably half the Leica's currently sold go to collectors (especially special editions) who likely never use them to take photos. A digital M would not be an investment camera. Too many people look at cameras as investments. Digital Cameras are if you use them to shoot not for their future value.

I have had probably 30 digital cameras (P&S, DSLR, RF) over the past 10 years, I buy them when they are brand new models and sell them (usually on eBay) when a better model is released usually losing 30%-50% depending on time frame. But in the interim I use them to take many photos but when the better technology comes out I want in on that.

I originally thought a modular chip was a good idea but after thinking it through their are other upgrades besides megapixels that come with each upgrade and there always seem to be buyers for slightly older technology so the whole camera body becomes the module which is upgraded.

I'm looking forward to a Digital M hopefully it won't be too expensive.

photoscala.com has a bit of info, nothing much new, except a projected price of
4000 Euro. Again there is mention of "attractive" new wide angles, with full back and forth compatibility.
