"Impossible" is the name of the company that took over some of Polaroid's defunct facilities and is now trying to produce Polaroid-type replacement films.

I want to cheer them on for persevering with Polaroid-type instant film - but it just seems an expensive way of getting sub-Instagram results.

There is the fun factor. Pull out an old Polaroid camera and people start talking to you. In Cuba, some Rastafarians asked me to take their photos. We had an enjoyable time waiting out the 40minutes face down time of the prints. When they turned them over, their reaction was priceless. You'll rarely have an experience like that with an iPhone. For me, film is as much the journey as the result.

I really like this picture. Of course the subjects are beautiful but I like the Spectra. I jut bought 4 and I really like shooting with them. Sadly, I think they are not as reliable as the SX70 and it is hard to find a perfect one.

Oh, I certainly won't argue about using film. 't'is just a pity that this film couldn't come anywhere near matching the quality of Fuji's offerings. There is the fun factor. Quality is subjective. Fuji's offerings are very sharp, almost clinical. Not the evocative, dreamy stuff that Impossible makes. I prefer the latter. But I understand, one man's meat etc.
I'd rather support Impossible out of sheer recalcitrance, as at least they are passionate about their films. Where as Fuji (you'll not I omit the "film" aspect from their name) are slowly killing off all their emulsions. I wouldn't expect Instax to be immune to this. Which is, of course, a shame
