Many highlights Thursday night. I liked Mike's Leica III, Randy's M4, and Roland's "Elvis" camera. I stayed away from the S3 and the M8 as much as possible! Roland's demonstration of the "quick load" was interesting. ;)

Randy, the first thing I did when I got home was check my Rokkor. ;) It's straight and not curved. :D
Mike I haven't checked the strap yet to see if it fits the Rollei.
Ted, I'll check in with you when you're back in town, and we'll grab some lunch., ok?

Roland's "Elvis" camera. Yep, I definitely liked that one. Nothing more need be said there, however! ;)

And hey, Ray, thanks for the reminder about the Rokkor. I just checked mine and it's straight as well! :) Guess that helps explain why I've never had any trouble using it on any of my M cameras.

And yeah, Roland's quick load demonstration was interesting. Primarily because it appeared more involved than I expected. Just one more reason why I like my M4 so well - no spool to have to mess with!

I agree, Roland, that Mike's Leica III was mighty sweet. Now I keep thinking it would be fun to play with a LTM Barnack camera (as if I needed another camera...).

Again, it was great seeing everyone and playing with all the cameras. We'll have to do it again soon.

Good to see the photos; I'd have liked to join you. I've just posted three from the Sept. 23rd meet in T.O., taken with the cine film I got in the trade with Rich for APX 100. I didn't think about which developer to use until I had the film immersed in a tank full of Rodinal. Luckily, I like the results, though I suspect there's a little operator error going on - especially with a couple I haven't posted.

Okay, it took two self-deleted posts before I figured out you couldn’t link photos into the page in the club forum. That Mike, he sure is a special one. Anyways, here are a few from that cool S3 and 35mm f1.8 that someone brought. I can’t remember who....

I’d be glad to remove any photos due to FBI restrictions, or any more scrupulous reasons.

Sorry I missed it, although I didn't appreciate the telephone call from Ray at 2 am requesting bail money :D

Hopefully I can make the next one, but I'm so far behind I haven't even posted pics from the August get-together :bang:

I noticed something interesting - my photos are pretty much underexposed with the film I used (about 1 month out-dated Fuji 400 True Definition - processed and scanned at Costco) --

The photos I took are about a 1/2 or 1 stop underexposed, but those taken by others are closer to accurate.

I think I'm used to seeing where the meter is selecting, and then bumping down slightly underexposing. I can get by with this with some films like Fuji 200, and of course digital, but low light, and this film seems to favor overexposure ?? Any other thoughts??

I couldn't get Robert to swap that 50 'lux for my freedom! I got out by promising the jail that I would perform a year's worth of b&w film processing.

I was at f2, 1/30 for just about all of mine, Delta 400, DD-X 1:1, 9 min.

I think this is a film specific thing. I recall even being at 1/15th, f2 with the 400 film for a few shots. I think the specific film I used may have been old or the costco developing not optimal.

If you browse on Smugmug, check my recent Fuji 200 with hex 50 and v4 preasph 35 cron film photos, incredibly great photo quality by exposing right on the meter, or a tad over.

Have a Voit. shoe mounted meter to play with later this week.

I opened up the original ~3MB scans into Picasa, hit "feeling lucky" on the set, and they came out pretty good. Reduced the sizes, but let me know if you want originals and I'll export as full size:
