In praise of the CV 35/2.5

Got this a while ago as a demo from Adorama for $169 (!). As others have noted, small, light, sharp. I am particularly impressed by how well it handled this difficult 'into the light' shot.

it's a great lens...i ended up selling it though for the inevitable calling of the 4th gen 35 summicron 🙂....having used both, the CV is definitely a great optical contender!

Looks like the CV 35/2.5. Is this the most widely owned lens on RFF? I've got one, and I know a lot of other RFF'ers do as well.

The R-D1 is my first rangefinder (well, not counting the XA), and I needed a couple of lenses to start with. I bought the CV35/2.5 (M mount) and the CV50 Nokton. I am happy with the results from both. I will eventually want a faster lens in the 35/40 range. But I love the feel and balance of the CV35/2.5 on the R-D1.

It's a great lens. The only reason I use the CV 1.7 is that I need the extra stop of lens speed but otherwise the 2.5 is at least as good a lens.

It is my primary lens on Bessa R, love it. Ever since I got it, I think I put my J-8 on the camera once.

Wonderful little lens. Even though I have a 4th gen Summicron on the way, I intend to keep the Skopar. It will again take up residence on my IIIc.

I have one too and I'm still using it although I recently got an Utron for the extra speed. Just an awesome little lens!
