Indonesia in analogue

+1!
Wonderful work.

Big thanks!

Somehow I missed page 3. I don't know if you like cropping, but the photo of the monkey in the trees; had you considered cropping from the top to just above the monkeys head? I noticed that as I was scrolling, when it got to that point, the leaves and branches just below took on a life of their own. If you wanted square, you could also crop from the sides.

Or not, since you like to show the film edges. That is hardly ever seen. But it can be refreshing, and with such great photos, that can't possibly detract, at least imho.

I hope you have more as I have really been enjoying them.

I normally don't crop. I try to follow the simple rule of composition - if you can't compose with what you have, you don't have much business in cropping either.

I've only cropped the pics that have damaged edges or the horizon line gone wrong (over 1-2 degrees off). While I occasionally do, very rarely I crop intentionally to repair my mistakes on composing. This way I keep myself motivated to compose better. For me personally it's the also the much better feeling of viewing experience of the photos with the complete film frames scanned - it instantly gives me the right impression how I thought and acted when I took this particular shot - the same when someone else posts their photo with complete film frame.

I'll post just few more. Takes way too much time to search, align & post them here yet I have so much important work at home, so I'll have to cut it short this time.

Cheers,
Margus

I think the presentation is great.

Please continue to post. I like the format and the fact you took the time to post anything.

Do you ever have any issues with the said issues with the large mirror and shutter vibration? Or is this another internet myth?

Keep the great pictures coming.

Peace

Thank you!

It's definitely a myth for the most part. The critical times on Pentax 67s are 1/30th, 1/15th (the worst) & 1/8th of a second. If you avoid this red-zone, you'll be fine. Sometimes I can't and I've shot 1/30s handheld, with wide-angle lens if you hold it stable the pics are very sharp, with normal and teles 1/30s or lower are all tripod settings IMO.

Knowing the red-zone the Pentax 67 system is very capable camera handheld IMHO.

I've been watching you post up these pictures recently and they are beautiful - a real pleasure to behold. I especially like the fourth one from the top of this page (the volcano).

Margus, love your work: composition, colors, atmosphere in each photo... really GREAT work.

Thank you for sharing your work...

Margus..

I just noticed this thread.. As always great shots. Doesn't matter what media u use, always excellent shots. U certainly brought a lot of different types of film w/ u on this trip.

I always look forward to your post

I definitely enjoyed viewing these photos and appreciate the effort you've put into presenting them.

Cheers guys, I may have to print out some of these. Most are drumscanned around 50-70 MP range equivalents to provide large digital prints if necessary. The proper analog enlarging is even better option for B&Ws, would love to Lith-print some of those:
