Interesting opinions about RFF

Indeed, although I don't know that we do any differently from time to time. 😀 Everyone likes to defend their own turf.

He's a sarcastic guy. For the most part I think he was flattered by the attention. You have to admit, some of the responses he got about his Street Photography PDF were pretty funny. 🙂

I agree with that.
However from the pdf itself and only from that, he seems like a ****ing arrogant asshole, honestly. Somebody that i'm not sure i'd enjoy meeting on the street.
So probably i'm wrong, one can't judge based on a few pages of blah blah, but that's all i know about him 😀

As to his comment on "backing up" the words with good images... Another weird idea. You don't have to be a great cook, you still can recognize and enjoy good food.

I agree in principle - but when dealing primarily with an audience of photographers - it's nice to see someone expressing an opinion that does have something to show for how they arrived at it.

Not required, and certainly not a reason to lambast said opinion. But certainly nice. 😀

(hopes my own photos measure up)

(prepares to hang head in shame)

John, he's reacting to the negative comments he received here on his piece on street photography.

I'm glad he placed links to galleries. Other than Beniliam, everyone who criticised his article is a poor photographer, and everyone who supported him is a good photographer. Weird how that works.

i guess you read as well as you shoot, mate. that's not exactly what i said.

in your case, though, i think i got it right! 😉

Joe, please do not delete this thread prematurely, it is not out of hand, yet. I find your need to micromanage the forum troubling, esp. in light of your recent comments about being "positive" and the "invisible" thread.

People need to vent their feelings, and Chris Weeks' article and ensuing discussions are thought provoking--with regard to the nature of street photography, equipment fetishism, how to construct an internet persona, and on and on. Please let it continue.
