As the Soviet army took over eastern Germany, some of the managers and technicians at the Carl Zeiss plant in Jena went West. They eventaully settled in Oberkochen and set up as Carl Zeiss Oberkochen. Those that stayed behind or were trapped were eventually sent to the USSR to help the Soviets set up the German optical plants that were acquired as part of war reparations. I think Lytkarino-LZOS was one of those plants. When they were allowed to return home, they rejoined the reconstituted and nationalized Carl Zeiss Jena company in Jena, DDR.
