Funny thing...both sides of the argument are spun by people who actually love film. Those who shoot digital do not care for such arguments.

You know what they say of pessimists...They are very well informed optimists.

P.S. I am shooting film like never before. I, alone, make up for the film consumption of ten casual shooters. I am buying primarily Ilford and Fuji, those committed to the good purpose. Shame I like so much TriX, I am spending money on a company that will abandon ship when the opportunity arises. Get out and shoot, every little helps 🙂

Oh, I shoot digital, too. But I love my Contax Gs and the Zorki and the Kiev and the Contax SLRs I have. Even the Yashica Electro GSX isn't too bad 🙂

As far as I'm concerned, I'll shoot film for many years to come, but it will be less than today and it will be more expensive with a severly limitd choice of films. A roll for 6 Euro plus 3 Euro development is something which I won't use careless.
I bought two 10packs Elitechrome 100 for some 80 Euro incl. development at the chainstore mentioned above 🙂
I'll need them next year in february for the carnaval in Brazil and I don't think I'll get them as cheap later.

And as far as your comments on developing being hazardous, "Keep out of reach of children" and all the other things - well, sorry to notice, but they have been this way before, yet people today became much much much less ready to answer and deal with their own actions, yet lawers are more and better, I suppose. Hence the stickers. The way I see it - if you are a responsible parent, your kids will not get into things they are not supposed to. Somehow it worked years ago. But with Nintendo kids today we have to watch out more? Really? Well, I see it this way - if you are too stupid to do something that will kill you - you deserve to die. This planet is overpopulated anyway. Less idiots - better for the rest. And f I turn out to be one of them - well, better for the rest of you. Sorry for OT.

Naw, film isn't dead. I just bought 40+ rolls of expired 120 of all kinds from various sellers. More than 40. And there is more to come.

If anyone here thinks film is dead, I'll buy your expired film.

I think it is. I was just at Home Depot and could not find any there as well. This is not looking good for the future of Pepsi. Come to think of it the writing is on the wall for all soft drinks.

we all need to promote film usage among the plebs, people need to be educated. nobody breaks into a house and steals a photo album but a lot of people steal computers.
