Hi,
I recently have been reviewing my scans and want higher quality so I would like to start wet scanning however
1) I have no experience with the process
2) I am insure how I would do it with my scanner
I am looking to scan mostly 6x7 negs, does anyone specifically do it with this scanner? Also how do i do it? Any good guides would be helpful
Thanks,
Jake

This guy seems to have simply used transparent film and a mineral oil.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. I wet mount with my Coolscan 9000 with an Image Mechanics tray. That tray is just a flat piece of glass. I put the neg on top of a bit of Kami fluid and then more fluid on top of the film and finally some overhead projector film. Works great and is neither messy nor very time consuming. It seems this should be possible on your scanner too.
Duralar, which is expensive, is not necessary. Just get clear fairly thin (like 0,2 or something) OH film preferably that is anti-static to reduce dust. And Kami fluids are better than oils because they evaporate within seconds afterwards. It is also unnecessary to use expensive 'scanning' tape that is adhesive when wet because the OH film will attach well through the fluids.
Good luck

Duralar should be relatively inexpensive. It is Mylar that is usually the expensive one.
