I just checked the Kodak corporate website, specifically the "film" portal. There is no listing for Plus-X, any format, any package-size, anywhere. BW is under "Professional" and there is TMax & Tri-X. Tri-X is available in 320 in sheet flim. Freestyle has single rolls of PX, no bulk.

I'm glad I asked for PX120 for Christmas - I now have a lifetime supply of 20-25 rolls. Had I known..... I foodled around instead of stocking up on Arista Premium 100.

My one & only roll of PX220 was my first roll in 220 format, My second roll, TX320, was my last in B+W.

My first roll of film for my first camera was Plus-X, 20 exp. My first 100' bulk was Plus-X. About a year ago Kodak was reassuring everyone that the new BW manufacturing plant ws their guarantee that they'd be in BW silver for-ev-er. Not? Have I missed this major Frankenstein's Shoe-drop or is this for real?:bang:

The worst site to navigate I have ever encountered. The internet has been here long enough Kodak, time to get a real website. It's an embarrassment.

That's a Wrap in the UK told me that it is discontinued. I bought the last 400ft they had at the end of last year.

May be they meant as a movie film?

According to BHphoto's website Plus-X in the 120 size has been discontinued. Which is too bad as it was one of my favorite films in the 120 size. Plus-x has always been a sleeper of a product for kodak's line The 35mm size is still available. There are many fine replacements out there. But I for one will miss it. It was a great film with great latitude. I am sure Kodak discontinued it as it was not one of their big sellers like Tri-x and the T-max films offer finer grain. -Kievman

Several months ago I emailed kodak.com customer service.
The representative replied that Plus-X is discontinued in all formats.
There still seems to be plenty of 35mm stock out there.

It was announced be discontinued maybe 2 years ago in Japan so I bought one of the last 100ft rolls available at that time... Now I am surprised to hear that Plus-X should be still available ? 😕

The last I emailed Kodak, maybe 1-2 months ago, Plus-X is still available in 35mm, but that's about it.

To find Kodak's 'real' film page, go to the 'All Kodak products and services' menu in the top right corner of their home page and click on 'Pro Photographer'. Otherwise you'll end up on their consumer film page or their online shop. You'll find pretty up to date information on their films on the professional page.

www.kodak.com/go/professional

It might be somewhat confusing to reach initially, but once you find the right page, it's chock full of information, far better than any other film manufacturer.

Here we go again.

Plus-X is not "completely" discontinued. It is still available in 135 & 120. They have discontinued motion picture reversal stock and arial stock. Plus-X Pan has been been gone for years having been reformulated to PX125.

Gah, are we going to keep having these end of the world of Plus-X threads because people are afraid to use google to learn something?

I sympathize with the frustration about such rumors.

However, there may be some substance to this one. B&H appears to say that Plus-X is discontinued in 120 size:

And others here claim to have been told the same by Kodak itself.

Thanks, all

Thanks, all

Thanks - I wended & wove my way through Kodak's maze & found the lone roll of Plus-X sitting at The Little Kids' Table, on the back porch. I will now spring for the full, totally outrageous, list price on the next 100' roll of same that I find, should I be so lucky.

"Back in the day" it was Plus-X done up in Microdol-X 1+3, for some aeon of eternal time. "Xday Night at the Movies" was usually tuned in to the kitchen TV - developing a roll of PX took about one-half of a typical John Wayne movie. Ultra-fine grain, an infinite grey scale, and The Comancheros made for a solid Friday night.

Maybe Croatia will buy out Kodak's interest in BW and ship from Samobor?

Kodak Professional confirmed to me a couple months ago that it was indeed discontinued in 120. Maybe it's not, but I had two different people tell me i was when I contacted them.

I can believe the demise of PX in 120 - as I said before, I shot one roll of PX 220, found out how nice it was, and went back to an empty store. End of pros who do weddings, ets. w/film will make life rough for 120 BW. I have my fingers crossed for 135 format. If APX100 comes back, it would cushion the blow. PX120 in Rodinal is my best 120 BW. TMax 100 leaves me cold - I'd rather go with Delta 100 or Acros.
