Almost impossible to blow the highlights, little "grain" and a dream to scan, what's not to like? ... ah, the price, yep it's a tad expensive sadly
I am sorry to say but I had a similar problem. Also I never could quite get the love going on Kodak C-41 BW.Akiv,
the xp-2 no name c-41 is XP2 but the prices has gone up quite a bit. There is a much cheaper 27 exposure c-41 B&W film, i think that is kodak.
i stopped buying from ultrafine as the quality of the expired film left a lot to be desired.

XP2 is all I shot this year.
And will continue until I get off my butt and start souping film again.

It's very sharp and has great contrast. Who else likes it (or hates it)?
I like it: Good resolution and sharpness, awesome dynamic range. Very good film for tricky light.
And exposed at 25-50 ISO, and push developed in E6 (yes, it is no typo) you even get slides....🙂 (but with a little bit color, nice, different look).
And it's from Ilford, always excellent QC.
Cheers, Jan
I shoot outdoors on sunny days at 240 ISO and 320 on cloudy days and 400 on overcast or indoors. Really no PP at all. What you see is what you get. Those shots were taken with an M3 and a Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5.Hi Akiva....I like it a lot too!!!!!! If don t mind You , please share your workflow for that Nice bw taste?
