is there a 'digital only' website?

It's there. It just comes in other Forms.

On digital sites, the film vs digital arises in a reverse fashion. But the discussions that really "Chap" me on the digital sites are the RAW vs. Jpeg. Those turn into threads more vicious than any I have seen on film vs digital.

Ain't that the truth...most vicious threads I have ever seen anywhere...JPEG vs RAW

I have a Nikon digital site but I do have one subsection for Film. I have to have both in my forums just because. 🙂

My site is sort of exclusive in that guests can't view it you have to sign up and the membership has to like you and your posts. I do not advertise it and we do not have many members. lol We like to BS around but we do not care for the typical BS you find out there.

I'm sure there's a forum somewhere where they argue vehemently about the dfferences between puppies and kittens! 😀

I shoot jpegs too...I know my camera and know what I want and will get when I hit the button...very minor adjustments and voila done. No RAW for me. Wastes to much valuable time. I rely on the camera a bit. Digital is a big thing. Just the way I do it. There are forums out there that are biased towards digital and I sure many of them are good ones. Just have to find them.

And I have a slight issue with 'an' in front of a word beginning with a consonant.

You should get a mod to change that for you! 😀

to be clear...i am not knocking rff...there are jerks everywhere...i like it here and realize what we have.

Joe-

Significantly fewer jerks here (or they hide their thoughts better 🙂

I think the biggest problem in all forums is thread creep and creepy threads... A lot less of that here than anywhere I've been in ages.

Tom

well, i'm not looking for a debate on raw vs. jpeg...especially as i am shooting jpegs only with the fujis...

Geez... you're only shooting .jpgs... why, you'd get SO much more out of RAW... <grin>

I loved the .jpgs out of my X-Pro1. I never shot RAW with it. It was the focusing system that I just couldn't master.

Stirring the pot can be dangerous around here ... I speak from experience! 😛

And the real joke is;

Do you know me? I'm not really a photographer, but I pretend to be one on the internet forums.😱

That is why nobody sees my photos, I don't want to make anyone go blind.

If your comment is about KM-25, I can tell you that he is (and has been - incl LIFE Magazine) widely published. I just read a newspaper feature article about him covering a show he's in (I think) this month.

Lighten up PKR, I was joking about myself, why did you think it was KM-25?

It´s a bit funny, I checked dpug.org when I saw this topic, and the first thing you see in the "Site news & more" is almost just analog posts 😀

Well, you've got to get all those slides and negs from the old days on the net somehow. Looks like they were discussing scanners mostly.

not so much connected to one camera/maker...

i don't think it would be boring...at least one wouldn't have to suffer the comparisons and comments made by overly insecure/insensitive people.

There is no insecure/insensitive digital users??

Wow...
I want to become one then...

if you like film more than life itself that is fine with me...just don't assume it's better for me or anyone else besides yourself and keep your mouth shut about it!

i'm thinking maybe this bull**** wont be out there on a digital only site.

You're right, that BS will not be on a digital only site, you'll just get a different type of BS. Internet forum, plus at least 2 people, will produce snarky posts within a very short space of time.

The problem isn't film or digital, or Canon or Nikon, or Leica haters vs. Leica fans, it's just human nature.

We've all got involved in discussions which have turned a bit nasty, we all just have to take responsibility for the parts we played and try not to do it in future.
