Does anyone know for sure that this is a Nikon RF mount lens. To me it looks funny, I am thinking Leica. I appreciate any info about the lens, is it sharp? Thanks

I am no expert on those things but if you look in Rotolonis book about Nikon RFF cameras and lenses the serial number does not exactly match ... 714501 should be a small black versions (even if there is some intermixing) and this one is not black and does not match in size either !?? Jon

Definitely LTM. Also an excellent lens. Mine, in Nikon-S mount, is a dailly user.

Thank you all, I never saw a Nikon RF mount that looked like that one and I have been looking for a wider lens than my 35mm nikkor or my 35mm biogon for myS2. I guess I will keep looking or go with a voightlander 21 or 25. thanks again.

It's always interesting to me how often people buy things on eBay or camera shows, etc, without having any idea of what they are looking at.
As a seller, I've had to deal with angry or befuddled buyers who buy things, clearly and perfectly described, but the buyer don't know how to use them or assumed they were something else.
It doesn't matter what you put in the auction description, the buyers don't read or don't have any conception of what the function is of the item they buy.
This is more common then you would imagine.
It always happens with lenses. I sold one manual focus Nikkor, made in the 1960's, and showed clear photos and said "manual focus lens".
The infuriated buyer (with only one feedback) complained that the AF motor was broken when he put it on his D70 DSLR, and made all sorts of threats.

This one might go for an affordable price because it doesn't show up on Leica searches or lists.

The trick in identifying the normal and wide angle thread mount Nikkors is the little focusing tab which is missing on the Nikon RF mount Nikkors. Thats the knob thingy on the side of the lens

If I didn't already own an optically excellent Canon 28/3.5, this auction would be very dangerous to my wallet. Someone has a really good chance of getting this silly cheap.
