Check out Ebay item 350068192509.
Another creative assembly from Poland. It looks like a classic Zeiss Biogon mounted in a Leica M3 summaron/summicron mount. Is this two expensive lenses wasted or will it work? At best it seems like an expensive Summaron. The seller seems to sell a lot of stuff and has a nice feedback score, but the fact that he doesn't try to describe the item a little better makes me wonder....

I doubt it. The lens must have come either from Contax or LTM standard. In both cases the factor 1.4 added by the goggles will destroy focus accuracy - except for infinity, if shimmed properly.

Like taking the googles off an M3 Summaron and using it with LTM adapter on an M2. Won't work. At f2.8 and close focus (the Biogon was also not made for .6m), DOF is not deep enough.

I'm looking at it- if you pulled the optics module out of the 35/2.8 Biogon and placed it into a mount made for the Summaron 35/2.8 with goggles, it would work. The trick is to make the helical and RF cam be 1:1 and let the optics take care of the focal length difference. That is how a Summaron works. SO: if someone (a hacker) took a Summaron mount and replaced the optics module with the Biogon optics, it could be made to work.

But there is not enough detail or sample images to know if it was done in a fashion that will actually work.
