I've never been a huge fan of fashion photography...

This isn't really "fashion" photography, though.

Can I ask how old you are? Fashion photography has been remarkably unremarkable since most of the fotogs went digital, unfortunately. I can suggest a long list of people to look at. Seems like you're attracted to more of a 'fantasy' characteristic. This guy is pretty good in that respect:

While he's fantastic, my tastes run more toward Steven Meisel, Richard Avedon, Irving penn, Peter Lindbergh, mario Testino.....

Me either, digital, film, wet plates, no interest in clothes nobody is going to buy photography.
So, I'm not going to check the links and I'm not sure why did I open this thread. 🙂

". . . . In her work she is trying to pursue a point in which the
commercial and artistic meet, focusing on conceptual as well
as visual aspect of photography."

She is doing very well at this, and I like her stuff, be it "fashion" or
whatever you (or she) decides to label it.

Several years since I last saw an Avedon exhibition. His prints are breathtaking. A friend of mine here worked for Penn in New York and has a few prints from those days. Equally lovely.

Thing about Bencicova and others that work similarly is that their work lacks the command of light that Avedon & Penn display. Recuenco seems to have a much better grasp of lighting, thanks for the link, CK.

Check out the fashion work that Klein did back in the day. Not bad eh?

I just looked at the links... I don't mind the instagram account. In the first two, however, the models look sick. Not a fan. Also not a fan in general of photography that promotes unhealthy body image (i.e. models are unrealistically thin, or photoshopped to be so).

No one mentioned Horst?
Saw an exhibition at the V&A, was great to read/see of a time when a photographer had time to light & think.
Regards, Jonathan
