I say we try to avoid the cold and have the January Meet-Up later in the month. The first two weeks in January seem to be the two coldest weeks of the year, and for health reasons I have to avoid the cold.

Keith has scouted out a new location that is brand new and just opened up in central Harlem, that I believe is near Sugar Hill.

Tung also wants to set a date. How about a Sunday. Either the 20th or 27th.

Keith post some info on the new location.

LOL. All of those expensive Leica gear in Harlem? I'll join the group if I am in town.

There's a group of us that live in Harlem. John and I shoot there all the time.

Harlem Public is a brand new place. We use to have a Meet-Up at Lorelie's in the Bowelry. LOL. Now that place is fully conquered and full of brand new luxury condos.

And by then, you should have your M-Monochrom!

Klaus so far is the only regular with the MM.

Currently I'm still number 4 on the list, and I was informed that Leica closes down between Christmas and New Years. I was told by my dealer that their last delivery was three MM's, and that if my delivery does not happen very soon that my camera will likely be delivered in January.

Anyways I'm looking upon the long delay as being like foreplay... LOL.

Anyways Tung wants me to bring out the Noct-Nikkor again so he can try it on a Canon 5D with an adapter. Be sure to tell Ari because he was smiling and laughing playing with the Noct-Nikkor on his new D-700.

I might very well not be able to make either date. But if there is a possibility then the 20th would be best.

So, what is the reason behind wanting to move the meet-up to 149th and Broadway? Just seems like it would make it harder for most of our regulars no? I don't care either way, but ... some might.

Some of us have kids and getting downtown is difficult with responsibilities and such. Lets try to agree on a late Sunday afternoon in January -

I understand that Keith. However, I guess I'm trying to figure out what's good for the group (and those that generally come on a consistent basis from outside of NYC) and not just for one or two people. This is no slight towards you because I'm free on Sundays and can go wherever I want to. I'm just trying not to alienate regulars.

Keith,

Above I mentioned January 20th as the Date. It's a Sunday. Looks like Andre will be able to make the meet-up and because of the reasons you mentioned if at Harlem Public.

From what I see in the reviews is that some say the place can get crowded and loud, but I'm not expecting this on a Sunday. The place opens at 12:00 PM, and generally our meet-ups begin at 1:00.

The address is 3512 Broadway between 148th and 149th. Trains are the 1, A,B,C, and D to 145th Street or the A or C to 155th Street.

John, the M104 bus is the best bet since we live on the East Side.

The menu, prices and the beer selection all look great. I want to try that peanut butter hamburger.

I'm open to everything, but I want to keep this discussion open to everyone. Let's not be like our government.

Hi folks,

I'm fine with whatever new neighborhood you figure out. I'll be out shooting and new streets, I'll be happy to shoot before the meetup ;). I basically go street shooting and connect this with the meet up. Shooting is a must when I come to the city, every time. Usually I would prefer a Saturday (Sunday e.g. the Leica gallery is closed) but either way I'll try to make it again in January.

Cal, I hope you'll get your new toy before the holidays, you will LOVE it.

Klaus,

I open for discussion the possibility of making the meet-up on a Saturday if we get a concensus. In reading some reviews Sunday might mean having to deal with a football crowd a Harlem Public, but then again this place seems to be rather popular and there have been some reports of being rather crowded. I expect that these times were likely at night.

The peanut butter hamburger gets rave reviews. Heard one report say it was messy eating though.

At this point the MM landscape thread is making me crazy. All that resolution...and all that medium format look...Already have GAS for a 21/3.4 Super Elmar ASPH. Already own a Zeiss 21mm finder that I use on my Plaubel 69W. The Hudson River Park has some interesting shots. Madhattan is only three miles wide and 12 miles long.

I would join on a regular basis, but as I said previously, family responsibilities keep me close to home on weekends. Cal and I had talked once about having a meeting uptown. There are a lot of you I would like to meet face to face. This would give a couple of us the chance. Anyway, whatever the group decides and we could just take it from there....
