He just dropped this bomb on his twitter account today!

The mind goes crazy on trying to figure out what it could be.

All he say's is "Week 2 with new stealth camera. I am under NDA at the moment as to who makes it but I can tell you that it's a brand new rangefinder"

Jeff shot Leica for years but for the past few has been shooting Canon DSLR's.

What could it be???

Only he knows but makes you wonder!

The only market that might exist for another digital RF might be a something low end from Cosina. Anything else would poison the market, and kill Leica.

Wow.........

Glass half empty kind of guy I guess?

🙄
I never said there was anything wrong with it. Nice work if you can get it. Ups your profile and brings in the cash. So what's wrong with that. Maybe you're one of these people who think people shouldn't use the web for selling. Well sorry chum but I think you missed the whole point of what the web is really about. It doesn't pay for itself. Haven't you noticed the advertising on this site?

No it's your assumption that he is getting paid to leak info.

Knowing Jeff it's just him being excited about a new product and letting people know that there is something out there.

well i suspect it's Canon otherwise why Ascough?

i also suspect it isn't going to be a rangefinder in the classic sense. maybe a goosed up version of the camera Canon has already shown?

for the record i would love to see another one on the market that doesn't run ridiculous amounts of moola.

Jeff shot with Leicas for years, so I'd guess that he knows what is and isn't a rangefinder. Since Leica is making the photographic equivalent of high-end audio gear now, there's plenty of room for a camera with rangefinder virtues that isn't hitting notes only a dog can hear.

haha nice analogy!

I agree too, Jeff knows his rangefinders and don't see him using that description for an EVIL type camera.

Epson?

If it's a canon or nikon then it'll likely have their own mount. Zeiss lenses for canon and nikon sell very well and since leica are now treading on canon and nikons toes by going digital with m8,m9 and s2, maybe one of canon or nikon have decided to stamp on leica.

What about mamiya? they must be losing market share and looking to get some back. Or maybe Olympus want to tap into the M-mount market having seen the sucess of the M8.

Or who knows it could zeiss or voigtlander/cosina with a digital rangefinder now that leica have proved the theory.
