Mark, thanks for posting these images. I like them for their 'sneakiness'… how it takes a moment to realize they aren't made in daylight and not early; that they are something else. The exposures are just right… for creating the sneaking nature. Your homemade viewfinder worked really well.
By the way, I also like your blog a lot. I come back to it from time to time and find new inspiration there. Thanks.

Nice shots Mark. It's been years since since my last visit to Joshua Tree. I should get my butt out there; it's less than a two hour drive from home.

Nicely done. I've been considering that lens for a Panasonic GF2. You've made up my mind.

Thanks for all the support guys! I really appreciate it!
Regarding the lens, the I-69 is my standard go-to lens for night photography because it's the right FL and the manual focus/aperture just makes it a joy to use. If I get the Oly 17/1.8, I'd probably retire it... but I just don't have the cash for that lens right now. TXForester, if you set your expections correctly, you'll like this lens. I think it has some flare and low contrast issues, but if you avoid those, it performs well and has a bit of vintage/toy appeal. Handles really well on a m43 camera too! Just make sure you get the scale focusing adjusted (you probably will have to put a new dot for your aperture setting).
Best!!!

I really like your treatment of these. Lends a bit of surreal atmosphere to night photography. Keep up the good work.
