Oddly the 4th of July is a Wednesday this year.

Also I'm not going to be around from July 21st through the 29th.

Perhaps we should have our monthly Meet-Up on either Sunday the 8th or Sunday the 15th.

GEAR ALERT: Pentax 67II all pimped out including Hot Shoe Grip and AF500FTZ dedicated flash. I also already have the rare and hard to find 75/2.8 AL with the "Tulip" style hood. A very evil camera that is suitably named "Son Of Godzilla" since John calls all my cameras "Monsters." LOL.

I've been out of the country for a bit, and I am skipping town again this week. I should be back by the 14th, so the 15th is a go.
It seems like there has been plenty of craziness going on in my absence. It will be good to be back.

I'm up for the 15th (at last, at last!), hopefully cooking up a few print-related goodies for y'all again. (Couldn't make the Mermaid Parade, but my favorite bartender - partially responsible for my not having made it - was in the parade, and I hope at least one of you saw and photographed her. She's worth it.)

With me there has been some day-trading of Barnacks with a big flurry of black paint and brassing. Didn't own the cameras long enough to even run any film through any of them. Sold a surplus black paint Leieca II (model D) to John, now its back in my posession since Sunday, and later this week I will pay him.

Also kind went crazy with medium format and built a true monster camera that is now all pimped out. Of course the Pentax 67II that I now own even has two grips and weighs about 5 3/4 pounds all rigged out. Somehow I secured the rare 75/2.8 AL and the factory Tulip hood. Even got the dedicated flash to exploit TTL metering.

The craziest thing I did was shoot color slide film that I got from Mervyn at the Mermade parade. Shot with the 105/2.4 wide open by using a polorizer to kill 1 1/2 stops. Should be killer bokeh. I'll bring a light table and the slides. Hopefully they are good as this was only the second time shooting with this camera.

Barrett,

It will be great to see you. Lots of new people. Lots of new gear.

It's funny, my brother has one of those with 4 lenses, second body with a polaroid back etc. I was just checking it out last month. I had a little project I wanted to use it for, but it I couldn't make the time to put any film through it. They are great cameras though.

Picking up the slides tonight from Duggal. All of the sudden I also want to shoot color. This could get expensive.

I'm just saying:
Tetenal C-41 kit. Comes out at a little over a $1 per roll, depending on how far you stretch it.

I have shot less than a dozen rolls of color over the past 3 years. I really suck. I'm much better in B&W.

BTW the Pentax 67II seems to be the ideal camera for me. Very easy to shoot lots of film. Already has changed and improved my photography.

I'am almost certain that i'll be there, provided no unanticipated catastrophic event. Cal, bring that Plaubel Proshift you have. I really want to see it.
